There is something special about really good Yew!
Yew has a feel of its own, very soft and smooth to draw. Yet, it has an amazing cast and throws arrows really hard.
We have to be very selective with the quality of Yew that goes into the Pacific, but the good stuff makes an amazing bow.
The Pacific Styk is an identical design as the American Styk but with Yew cores. The standard Pacific Styk will come with your choice of colored glass and an Osage riser.
You will find the Pacific Styk to be incredibly forgiving, the arrow always seems to go where you are looking, even if conditions aren't perfect. It is also dead in the hand and very quiet. All of these features make this bow an ideal hunting bow.
A standard Pacific Styk will be made with colored glass of your choice on the back and belly, a beautiful Osage riser and 4 layers of Yew for the cores, giving it a silky smooth draw cycle, great cast and unmatched arrow speeds. This bow throws an arrow with great cast and its performance excels with heavy arrows. All Pacific Styk's will come standard with a leather grip and reinforced tips, built with tip wedges, to allow for use of modern sting materials. All bows shipped with a B-55 string.
Glass Colors available:
Black, Green, White, Carmel, Dark Brown, Red, & Gray
Riser wood options:
I stock many different woods and have access to just about anything you wish. See the Wood Options page for the choices I keep in stock.
The Pacific Styk starts at $850 and can be upgraded to clear glass for an additional $100 and add beautiful veneers for the veneer price, which can be found on the Wood Options page. Other upgrades available include, exotic wood species, phenolic accents added to risers, etc. Riser wood pricing on the Wood Options page.
Draw Weight Tolerance
I do a very good job at hitting draw weight but in order to achieve optimum performance please allow plus or minus 1# of your requested draw weight. Most often I will hit the weight you request but grinding down to the desired weight, as some others do, is not ideal. It hinders performance and can hurt the integrity of the bow. Thus my policy is that if I miss weight by more than 1# I rebuild the bow and hit the weight you requested . Example: if you order a bow 45# @ 28", please allow 44#-46#.
***To order your bow, click the Buy Now button and pay the deposit. We will contact you prior to the start of the build to get your specifications. We will send you a separate invoice for the balance due, which must be paid prior to shipment of your bow.
